CELEBRATE!

Happy Independence Day, America!

I started writing this blog one year ago; the process was pure pleasure, almost selfish.

 Now, I reflect.

Seriously, are we better off one year later than we were one year ago?  Personally, I do not think so.

The American people have just lost their personal freedoms to a government that is already too big for its budget.  Oh yeah, what budget?  The government has not passed a budget (no budget, no spending limits); nor does it follow the rule of law, nor does it protect its citizens or its allies.  Working behind closed doors (no transparency, no integrity, no honesty), increasing the country’s debt (one so big that it can never be paid off), and finagling around the law rather than working within the Constitution (by-passing Congress) results in…well, you decide!

It is one sad day when those working for a living are outnumbered by those voting (legally or illegally) for a living (my take on an Anonymous quote).  How long can this continue?  My kids’ futures are at stake; heck, my future is at stake.  I am worried, I am scared!

I am not singling out the Democrats, the Republicans, or any other political party.  I am supporting the United States of America.  I love this country; my country.

I believe that the people of this great country can still work together to get back on the right track...the track of less government power,  less government intrusion into our personal  lives, and more responsibility for our own choices.  Remember…we are still a republic.  Or, are we?  Are you paying attention?  The Unites States health care system just became a socialist system.  What is next?  Well, consider food choices, car choices, education, gun control, speech, child-rearing, communications, taxes…the list goes on.  You decide what is important to you and think about how it is being transformed.

If we do not work together and make sacrifices, the United States of America, as we know it and love it, is doomed; it will no longer be viewed as the most exceptional country in the world.  Why is it that so many people from around the world seek to live in the United States?  Is it opportunity, liberty, a better way of life?  Again, you decide.

Little by little our freedoms are being taken from us, not by foreign terrorists, but by our own government.  Enjoy your freedoms while you still have your freedoms!

As for my blog, I will continue to write.  Some subjects will be new and others might be repeats from the past year.  After all, if something was remarkable last year, it will probably be amazing, exciting, fabulous, and beautiful this year.   My major focus will continue to be enjoyment of my farm, my family, and my friends; and, to write about my daily life.  Occasionally, I will voice my concerns about this country and the political climate.  I do not particularly like politics, but I am realizing the imminent importance of such.   I also hope to help motivate my followers (of my blog) through my thoughts and photos.

You have the choice whether you want to follow my journey or not.  Yes, you have the choice.

I hope that you decide to come along; sometimes for the importance, but mostly for the enjoyment.

Today….let us celebrate our INDEPENDENCE!
